Project 01 Sketches & Brainstorming

In high school, I did a very similar project to this one and as I was sketching I thought back to it. So I have included the older stationary that I made and used that to sketch some fresher and more fitting ideas.

3 good logos, 1 bad logo

The first 5 logos are my "good" choices. I have always liked the Firefox logo, because it seems to show speed and movement and color, and the internet holds all of that. I also think it's fun that it's a fox and a fire. The Volkswagon logo is a great one, also, because of the clever V and W included. It also resembles a vehicle because it looks like a horn or a grill. I chose the batman logo mostly because of how recognizable it is. It doesn't have any text, and doesn't need any. It doesn't even cleverly describe a superhero or that fact that this is a character or a man. It's just a successful logo. I really like the Mother and Child logo more for Typography reasons, but I think it is so clever with the child inside.  The FedEx logo is also super clever with the intended arrow between the 'E' and the 'x'. The Starbucks logo, although very recognizable, seems pretty stupid to me. I have to say, I didn't look up why there is a picture of a mermaid with a split tail, but the fact that it is something as unusual as a split mermaid tail tells me that you should show that in the logo.Starbucks recently redesigned their logo to include the entire image of the mermaid which is really the only reason I knew that's what it was.
